Every once in a while, we find a truck that makes you wonder how it survived more than two decades in this kind of condition. This exceptional 2001 Ford F-350 Lariat has just 13,713 original miles and has had only one owner from new. It comes with a perfect, accident-free Carfax showing an impressive 22 service records, providing outstanding documentation for its remarkably low mileage and history. We purchased this F-350 from the estate of its original owner in New York, where it had spent its entire life. Finished in beautiful Toreador Red Metallic with the factory two-tone lower treatment over a Medium Parchment Lariat leather interior, the condition of this truck is exceptional. And perhaps the most impressive part is what we haven't done to it. This truck has not been professionally detailed or paint-corrected. We washed it, rinsed it, dried it with a blower and finished the remaining water with a microfiber towel. That's it. No buffing, no polishing and no attempt to cosmetically manufacture the condition you see in the photographs. The extraordinary gloss, straight body, beautiful chrome and remarkably preserved trim are simply the condition in which this truck has survived. The interior is equally impressive. The Medium Parchment leather seating, driver's bolster, steering wheel, carpeting, dashboard, door panels, controls and factory audio system display the kind of preservation that is extremely difficult to duplicate today. With only 13,713 miles, it still looks and feels like the lightly used truck that it is. Under the hood is arguably the most desirable engine Ford offered in this generation of Super Duty: the legendary 7.3-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel, backed by the automatic transmission. The original window sticker shows the Power Stroke alone was a $4,720 option when new. This truck was well equipped from the factory with the Lariat trim, camper package, trailer-towing mirrors, roof clearance lights and other towing-oriented equipment. The truck was clearly ordered with towing in mind and retains its fifth-wheel hitch along with the original Reese documentation. It also retains a remarkable collection of original books, manuals, literature, keys and paperwork. The underside tells another important part of this truck's story. According to the original owner's history, he was diligent about having the truck oil-sprayed for corrosion protection on a regular basis. The application wasn't intended to win a beauty contest—it was intended to protect the truck, and more than two decades later the results speak for themselves. The chassis, floor structure and even areas notoriously prone to corrosion on these trucks have been exceptionally well preserved. We have deliberately left the protective treatment and natural appearance underneath intact rather than attempting to strip, paint or cosmetically refinish it.
